Rutland’s Home for Contact Lenses
As a team that cares about your experience as much as your eye health, we love seeing people like you enjoying clear, comfortable vision. One of the many ways we help serve your vision is by offering contact lens exams and fittings.
With contact lenses, you don’t have to worry about matching your eyewear with your outfit or cleaning your lenses when they fog up. Enjoy crisp vision with a little more freedom.
Find out if contact lenses are right for you by booking your contact lens exam and fitting today.

What Is a Contact Lens Exam & Fitting?
Whether you’re getting contact lenses or glasses, we always start the process with a comprehensive eye exam. Eye exams provide us with information about your vision and eye health to help determine if contacts are right for you.
Fittings help us check that your contact lenses are comfortable and clear throughout the day. If you find your contacts uncomfortable, please remove them and contact us for help.
How Contact Lenses Can Help
We’ll determine your lens prescription during an eye exam and perform various tests to look for potential eye diseases and conditions that could make contact lenses difficult to wear.
These issues can include dry eye, keratoconus, astigmatism, and presbyopia. However, some specialty contacts could help give you clear sight even if you experience these conditions.
We’re committed to helping you find the perfect lenses to fit your lifestyle and vision goals.
The Fitting Process
Our contact lens fitting process prioritizes comfort, clarity, and confidence. Each fitting includes a personalized trial with lenses selected to match your vision needs.
For new contact lens wearers, we provide a comprehensive teaching session to guide you on proper handling, insertion, removal, and care techniques so you feel comfortable and prepared from day one.
We also schedule a follow-up appointment 2 weeks after your initial fitting.
Types of Contact Lenses
Contact lens technology has vastly improved over the past couple of decades, allowing them to address a wide range of issues while still providing comfortable, crisp vision.
Our modern eye care practices help our team determine what type of contact lens may best serve you. Several different types are available, and we’re proud to offer them to you and your family.
Rigid gas-permeable contacts, also known as RGP contacts, are made of plastic polymers that allow oxygen to pass through its materials and reach the surface of your eye.
Many people enjoy these lenses because of their durability and crisp vision, but they may take a little longer to adjust to than other types of contact lenses.
We may recommend these lenses if you have dry eye or astigmatism.
Soft contact lenses are among the most common types of contact lenses people wear. They are made from soft materials, making them easy to adjust to while also correcting refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia, and astigmatism.
Depending on your needs and lifestyle, we may recommend daily wear, extended wear, or overnight contacts.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a growing concern for many parents around the globe. Currently, nearly 30% of children have some degree of myopia, but MiSight contact lenses can help control myopia’s effects.
MiSight uses a technique called myopic defocus to help focus images on the retina in a way that sends signals to the eye that slow down myopia progression. Studies have shown that MiSight contacts can reduce myopia progression by 59%!
